SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Pappu Kumar Dey is an Associate Professor (on study leave) in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Jahangirnagar University. He is presently a Ph.D. candidate in Accounting and Finance at the University of Newcastle, Australia, where he has been awarded the RTP Scholarship. He earned his second master's degree in Economic Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan, with a Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship, and completed his BBA and MBA in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Dhaka. In recognition of his academic excellence, he received the Dean’s Merit and Dean's Honor awards. Before joining Jahangirnagar University, Pappu held academic positions at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University and Daffodil International University.
Pappu is passionate about archival research, focusing on the interplay of accounting and financial economics. His research interests include corporate governance, corporate sustainability, corporate environmental and social responsibility, and related disclosures and performance. His scholarly work has been published in reputed journals such as Journal of Enterprise Information Management; Journal of Applied Accounting Research; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: An International Journal; International Journal of Disclosure and Governance; and Asian Journal of Accounting Research.
