Admission into Masters Courses

Students graduating from different departments of this university only are eligible for admission into masters class of the respective department. 

External candidates with required qualification may apply for admission into MBA program only. 

MBA Program

Only the students with 4-year BBA or equivalent commerce/business degree  with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent are eligible to apply for the admission test. 

It may be mentioned here that the MBA program of this university is a higher level program after the  BBA program. No fundamental course is taught in this program. So, students are required to have proper exposure to all business related basic courses before they enroll in MBA.

M Phil

Minimum Required Qualification 

 

a) 1st Division in either SSC or HSC and 2nd Division in the other exam.

55% marks in either Undergraduate or Post Graduate level and 50% marks in the other  exam

         or

b) 1st Class/Division in either Undergraduate or Postgraduate exam and 50% marks in the other exam. for the candidates with  2nd Division in Both  SSC and HSC, 

         or

c) All second class (with 45% marks) upto post graduate level if the candidate has 2-year teaching/ research experience in any approved college/institute.

        or

d) (Only for Drama and Dramatics)

For the admission into M Phil course in Drama and Dramatics, at least 1 drama related research publication in any approved journal  and practical experience through an institute approved by ITI (International Theater Institute) or Bangladesh Group Theater Federation in any field related to drama (Play, Direction, Drama Writing, Set design and Film.)

 

Application Procedure: Interested candidates with abovementioned qualification are required to submit an application form to the department concerned with all required documents.

Application must accompany  attached copies of certificates and  marks sheets of all exams, 1 copy of passport size photograph and all relevant documents. 

Applicants already in service must furnish a copy of permission from their employer.

Ph D

a) M Phil Degree from this university or equivalent degree from any other  university (subject to the approval of the Academic Council of the university)

      or

b) 2 years teaching experience in graduate/post-graduate level in this university or any other university and proven track record of research. 

      or 

c) 3 years teaching experience in college level and at least second class in all  exams (with at least 45% marks).

      or 

d) 3 years post qualification (post graduate) research experience in any research/higher studies institution and at least 2nd class/division (with at least 45% marks) in all exams.

Foreign Students

A limited number of seats are earmarked for foreign students every year.

Application procedure: Foreign students collect information regarding admission from the Education Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy or High Commission in their respective countries. Or, they can also communicate with the Registrar of the university. They have to submit their bio-data and photocopies of degrees/certificates they have already obtained. Students can communicate throughout the year for admission. Usually the applications received up to 30th June are considered for admission for the following session.

Selection Criteria: Selection of students for admission are based on the past academic performance of the students concerned and is done by a committee. Students under this category are not required to sit for any admission test.

Tuition and other charges
 

The cost of tuition and accommodation a student has to bear each year is approximately Tk 3,500/- (US$60 approx.) Besides, an amount of Tk. 3,500 per month is enough to cover all other expenses for a moderate living in the campus (subsidized food; breakfast, tea, lunch and dinner are served at the dining rooms and canteens of the university).  Only the foreign students have to pay US$ 500 to the university as foreign student entry fee at the time of their admission. The other expenses, however, remain the same.
