PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

S M Mahhbubul Ameen is a Professor in the Department Geological Sciences at Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. He obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) and MS degrees from the same university in 1993, 1994, respectively. He was awarded a Ph.D. degree from the Curtin University, Australia, in 2013. His research broadly focuses on geochemistry, geochronology, evolution of crystalline rocks and gold mineralization in the granitoids and BIF.

RESEARCH INTEREST

Origin and evolution of the basement rocks with the help of mainly petrology, geochemistry, U-Pb SHRIMP (Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe) geochronology; Lu-Hf isotopic study; Granitoid-hosted gold, mafic-ultramafic hosted Ni-Cu-Co deposits
