I have completed my Ph.D. in Agricultural Biotechnology from Chungbuk National University, South Korea. After that, I joined the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) The Philippines as a research collaborator to work on the oversee of aquaporin functions of drought-tolerant mechanisms in rice. During JSPS Postdoctoral fellowship at Tsukuba University, Japan my responsibility was to develop genetically modified lettuce plants with taste modifying protein. Development of Greening and Canker resistant transgenic Citrus cultivars was my research goal at the University of Florida, the USA as a research associate. I have a long experience in plant tissue culture, commercial production of plant cells through bioreactor culture for the metabolic interest and development of genetically modified plants. I have published articles in many international journals and books (total citation 739, h-index 14, i10-index 16; RG score 19.68). My research interests to identify novel genes from the local biodiversity, conservation of the biodiversity, genome engineering and genome editing approach to develop climate-resilient crops (Rice, Fodder crop, Vegetables), metabolomics and metabolic engineering, public awareness and motivation towards the new technologies.
