PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

With over two decades of academic and research experience, the professional career reflects a deep commitment to the advancement of zoological sciences. Currently holding the position of Professor and Chairman in the Department of Zoology at Jahangirnagar University, the role encompasses leadership in curriculum development, innovative research, and the promotion of academic excellence. The contributions span across multiple disciplines of zoology, addressing both fundamental and applied aspects of animal science. A strong emphasis is placed on fostering the growth of future zoologists through rigorous mentorship, guidance, and encouragement of independent research skills. Beyond teaching, the academic journey is marked by significant research endeavors and numerous publications that enrich the broader scientific community. By integrating scholarship, pedagogy, and leadership, the professional path continues to strengthen the foundation of zoological studies and contribute meaningfully to both national and international scientific dialogues.

In addition to research and leadership, teaching has remained a central focus of the academic journey. Courses delivered span a broad spectrum of zoological and allied sciences, including Human Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, Fisheries Management, Haematology, and Limnology. The teaching portfolio also extends to practical aspects such as the analysis of chemical parameters of water and specialized modules in Oceanography, offered within the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering. This diverse teaching engagement not only broadens the academic exposure of students but also integrates theoretical foundations with hands-on scientific practices, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience that bridges classroom knowledge with real-world applications.
