PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Rahman has completed a Bachelor of Science (Honors) (2004), MSc (2006), and MPhil (2009) from the Department of Chemistry, Jahangirnagar University (JU) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Also, he has obtained a Master of Science in Chemistry from Memorial University Newfoundland (MUN), located in St. John’s, Canada (2014). At Memorial University, he studied the photochemistry of transition-metal complexes. He received his Ph.D. degree in Biological and Chemical Sciences from Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU), Waterloo, Canada in 2019. His Ph.D. thesis addresses the knowledge gaps in the chemistry of multicomponent atmospheric and geochemical systems containing organic matter. In addition, it describes the effectiveness of Fe-MOF materials in NOx remediation compared to existing technologies. Currently, he is working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemistry at JU. He has published several papers in reputed international journals. His research interests center on the interfacial chemistry of atmospherically relevant materials containing transition metals and organic matters as they have many environmental, biological, and medical applications.
