This book entiled "India: Climate Change Impacts, Mitigation and Adaptation in Developing Countries" discusses the issue of food and water security in India under the context of climate change. It provides information to scientists and local government to help them better understand the particularities of the local climate. It offers insight into the changes to natural ecosystems which have affected the local Indian population. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges to Indian society. It can lead to serious impacts on production, life and the environment. Higher temperatures and sea level rise can lead to flooding and cause water salinity problems which bring about negative effects on agriculture and high risks to industry and socio-economic systems in the future.

Book-03: Md. Nazrul Islam and Sven Erik Jorgensen (Eds.) (2018) "Environmental Management of Marine Ecosystems" edited book has already been published from Taylor & Francis Publication, CRC Press, USA, Published March 15, 2018, Reference-362 Pages; 26 Color & 67 B/W Illustrations ISBN 9781498767729 -CAT# K29208 (Both print and online copy),

Ecosystem-Based Management (EBM) is one of the most holistic approaches to protecting marine and coastal ecosystems as it recognizes the need to protect entire marine ecosystems instead of individual species. After decades of pollution, habitat degradation and overfishing, now climate change and ocean acidification threaten the health of the ocean in unprecedented way. Environmental Management of Marine Ecosystems book illustrates the current status, trends, and effects of climate, natural disturbances and anthropogenic impacts on marine ecosystems. It demonstrates how to integrate different management tools and models in an up-to-date, multidisciplinary approach to environmental management.

The results of extensive research by an international team of contributors, the Environmental Management of Marine Ecosystems is designed to inform scientists, practitioners, academics, government and non-government policymakers on the particularities of marine ecosystems and assist them in understanding the EBM approaches in means of mitigation and adaptation of human activities that result in sustainability. These practices will help change the current methodologies used for resource assessment and the future regulations of marine resources.

Book Title: Bangladesh I: Climate Change Impacts, Mitigation and Adaptation in Developing Countries: The aim of this book is to provide information to scientists and local government to help them better understand the particularities of the local climate. Climate change is one of the biggest challenges to society. It can lead to serious impacts on production, life and environment on a global scale. Higher temperatures and sea level rise will cause flooding and water salinity problems which bring about negative effects on agriculture and high risks to industry and socio-economic systems in the future. Climate change leads to many changes in global development and security, especially energy, water, food, society, job, diplomacy, culture, economy and trade. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) defines climate change as: “Any change in climate over time, whether due to natural variability or as a result of human activity.” Global climate change has emerged as a key issue in both political and economic arenas. It is an increasingly questioned phenomenon, and progressive national governments around the world have started taking action to respond to these environmental concerns.

Research Methods in Geography and Environmental Studies provides a broad and integrative introduction to the conduct and interpretation of scientific research in geography. It explains both, the conceptual and the technical aspects of research, as well as all phases of the research process. As in the previous edition, the authors use a framework - of a natural and social scientific approach - common to all subjects in geography. In this edition new material is included on "Computational Modeling", as well as more information about GPS and map projections, as well as an expanded chapter on Scientific Communication to present more guidance on writing a literature review.

Book Title: Effects of Global warming on Developing Country: An Assessment on Dhaka Mega-city in Bangladesh: Global warming is the greatest environmental challenge facing the world today. It is broadly recognized that Bangladesh is very vulnerable to this problem. Indeed, it has internationally been argued that Bangladesh, as a country, may suffer the most severe impacts from global warming and climate change. The effect of global warming on Dhaka city is likely to severe. The green house gases emission ratio of Dhaka city is negligible comparing to worldwide ratio. But this contribution is likely to increase rapidly with the continuing growth of the city's population. At the same time, Dhaka is prone to damaging and costly flooding, both from the rivers that bound it and from rainfall that generates runoff that is beyond the capacity of the drains. Annual mean temperature and rainfall and humidity data are used to realize the global warming effect of the study area. From the data analysis it is found that temperature and rainfall are increasing day by day as well as local weather and climate is changing. Urban flooding, water logging, reducing fresh water availability, warmer and more humid weather leading to crisis food security, and health of the city dwellers.

Book Title: Mitigation and Adaptation Strategies of Cyclones in Bangladesh: A Historical Review on 1960-2010: Bangladesh is one of the most disaster prone countries in the world. Over last 40 years different scales of cyclones have been affecting the country with loss of valuable lives and property. This research is illustrated by the cyclonic impact scenarios obtained from 1960-2010 in Bangladesh especially on coastal environment. The scenarios of this study shows that the November 12, 1970 cyclone ‘Bhola’ killed 500,000 peoples and April 29, 1991 cyclone ‘Gorky’ killed more than 130,000 Bangladeshis and left some 10 million homeless. Super cyclone ‘Sidr’ hits on 15 November in 2007. Bangladesh is a landing ground of cyclones because of the funnel shaped coast of the Bay of Bengal. The findings of this study are the main challenges to adaptation with coastal disasters are erratic poverty, shortage of cyclone centers, lack of modern technology, traditional cyclone warning system and coastal poor people careless mind respective custom and religion. In the recent years the developed nations have already had the opportunity to adapt with coastal disasters but unfortunately they take no consideration of the developing countries that are still in that challenging phase.

Book Title: Environmental Review of salinity Intrusion in Coastal Bangladesh: Impact Assessment on Food Production: Salinity intrusion is one of the greatest environmental issues in Bangladesh. The impacts of salinity intrusion on food production of coastal districts are likely to severe. In these area salinity intrudes by natural processess such as recent past super cyclone-Sidr, Aila and floods and by the artifical process for shrimp farming. This study is mainly based on primary information through focus group discussions, personal interview, field visits, institutional consultations etc. and secondary information. The present major cropping pattern is the single crop and multi crops are the minor. The major crops are paddy such Aus, Aman and Boro and wheat, potato, sugarcane, garlic, onion, chili and vegetables etc. The previous major cropping pattern is double crops and single crop is the minor. Three decades ago salinity intrusion rate was very low as that time salinity intrudes only by natural process. The agricultural land is decreasing and shifting into shrimp farming and settlement for the population growth, flood and river erosion. The present yields of rice have decreased comparing to previous time because of salinity intrusion by natural and artificial process.

Book Title: Predictive Assessment on Depletion of Sundarban Mangrove in Bangladesh: Sundarban Mangrove Forest in Bangladesh is playing a significant role in local and national economy and is providing protection to the coastline as well as to the indigenous people. During the past decades and also in recent time this forest was heavily disturbed by human intervention in many aspects. As a consequence the resources of the forest are fragmenting, shrinking and declining, which in turn leads to an increasing failure of satisfying increasing demands both at local and national levels. Therefore accurate and continuously updated spatial information is needed for optimizing forest management and environmental planning on both levels to support the fulfillment of urgent needs of sustainability of the development of the forest ecosystems. The present study is an investigation examining the underlying causes of deforestation, forest cover change and its environmental impact. Remarkable changes of the forest cover have been occurred from 1997 to 2006. In the present study, dense forest cover have been changed drastically and converted into light forest in 2006. The total 1.17% forest cover area is reduced.

PATENT

Dominant Algae Toxin Modeling (Epsilon Value) Toxin Decay Coefficient in Case of P Limited or N Limited Condition,

Main Theme: The toxin production is made by Microcystis spp., and is proportional to the growth of algae, while it depends on whether phosphorus or nitrogen limits the algal growth. The toxin remains in the cell for respiration. Harmful algae toxin is released with extracellular release and mortality, and advects the surrounding current and turbulence. The degradation of toxin was taken into account by the decay coefficient which crosses the concentration of toxin.
