PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Sohani Afroja works as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Statistics and Data Science in Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has been working in this department as a faculty member since 2022. Before joining Jahangirnagar University as a lecturer in the Statistics & Data Science department, Sohani began her teaching career as a lecturer and assistant professor in the Statistics Discipline at Khulna University in Khulna from 2016 to 2022. Her areas of expertise included time series, financial statistics, public health, and categorical data analysis. She had made significant contributions to the fields of public health, women's autonomy, and maternal and child health. She has over 12 research publications in peer-reviewed journals. Her main motive for conducting public health research was to improve the quality of health in Bangladesh by addressing the causes of illnesses and issues within the health sector.
